Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing & Heating Estimating Manager to lead our estimating department while supporting project management, pricing strategy, and operational efficiency. This role is critical to our continued growth and profitability and requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate plumbing and heating estimates for residential, commercial, and light industrial projects

• Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop competitive bids

• Manage customer relations and oversee the estimating process from takeoff to proposal submission

• Coordinate with homeowners, project managers, and field supervisors

• Develop labor, material, and equipment cost analysis

• Manage warranty claims and parts ordering as needed

• Maintain pricing databases and vendor relationships

• Review change orders, value engineering options, and scope revisions

• Assist with project handoff from estimating to operations

• Track bid results and improve estimating accuracy over time

• Ensure compliance with local codes, industry standards, and company policies

• Mentor junior estimators or office staff as needed


Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in plumbing and heating (HVAC hydronic experience a plus)
• 3+ years estimating and/or management experience
• Strong knowledge of:

 Plumbing systems (commercial & residential)

 Boilers, hydronic heating, and mechanical systems

 Local codes and permitting requirements

 Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools

 Experience with QuickBooks-integrated job costing or ERP software preferred

 Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

 Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

Preferred Credentials

 Journeyman or Master Plumber license
 Mechanical Administrator or equivalent
 Experience with design-build projects
 Strong vendor and subcontractor negotiation skills
