EXPERIENCE ENGINE REBUILD DIESEL TECHNICIAN

Experience Engine Rebuild Diesel Technician
Refuse company is hiring applicant for the position of Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic for a fleet of approximately 80 units and among that maintain Caterpillar, Cummins and Allison.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Detects and determines the cause(s) of mechanical, electrical and perform the necessary diagnostic and repairs to correct the problem. Must understand engines, chassis repairs needed. performing in-frame on engines, and any other components on the chassis.
· Keeps accurate, complete and timely records of repair work performed.
· Maintain clean work area, care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment.
· Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshooting inspections, evaluates conditions and determines extent of repair work to be performed.
· Must be able to perform job duties as described and other duties and special projects as assigned.
· Follow all safety rules and regulations, while performing work assignments must adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company handbook.
· Maintain superb communication with supervisor (notify of work status, repairs pending)
· Maintain consistent flow of work in a timely manner.
· Ensure quality, compliance and safety of company’s assets and personnel. Capable of resolving issues as they arise

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Refuse body experience and diagnoses.
· Working knowledge on computer systems, gas/diesel engines, transmissions, rebuilding , drive lines, diagnostic, brakes, electrical systems, suspensions, steering, AC’s, greasing, wheel alignment and related equipment, fuel and cooling systems.
· Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
· Safety knowledge.
· Dependable, reliable and punctual.
· Must have leadership skills and a team player, must also work well under minimal supervision. Must be able to lead team to success and superb productivity.
· Able to pass a background check and drug test

Preferred but not necessary:
· ASE heavy truck certification.
· CDL with current DOT physical Card. Clean MVR record.
