Field Service Technician

We have immediate openings for Field Service Technicians who are self-confident, have experience with mechanical and hydraulic repairs, and are able to follow instructions when nobody is looking. Our company repairs vehicle service equipment, which means vehicle lifts, oil dispensing systems, air compressors, tire changers, exhaust extraction systems, and anything else you might find in an auto repair shop.

It is easy to find people who can turn a wrench, follow simple instructions, or do the same thing all day long. What we need are people who can think on their own, but who can still follow instructions. We need people who can understand how equipment works, and figure out why it stopped. We need people who will call the customer before driving to their shop, will report to the office after every service call, and can string together more than 3 words to explain what they did and what parts they used.

Our technicians work a 4 day week. They normally visit 4 or 5 customers a day, and diagnose or fix whatever they find. Technicians normally work alone, but have technical support from the office or the factory when needed. Training typically takes about 3 months, but you have to have at least 3 years field diagnostic experience in at least one trade for the training to make sense. A clean driving record is also necessary.
