Overview

Responsibilities

-Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
-Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure quality and consistency
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety protocols
-Handle food with proper hygiene practices, including food handling and storage procedures
-Support kitchen operations during meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
-Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen workflow
-Assist with catering events and special functions as needed
-Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety regulations
-Maintain inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management of shortages

Qualifications
-Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or catering environments
-Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
-Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation
-Experience with menu planning and fine dining presentation is preferred
-Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
-Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
-Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus but not required
-Familiarity with food industry practices including food service, food handling, and catering operations
-Bi-lingual
