The Cupboard is an organic meal subscription service delivering to families across the Bay Area. We prepare ready-to-heat meals for 60+ families each week, using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and reusable glassware containers.
We’re a women-led company seeking a detail-oriented Plater Kitchen Associate to join our team. We’re looking for someone with a cooking background who can organize the assets related to our services. This role ensures that every meal leaving our kitchen is plated beautifully, labeled correctly, and packed with care. Our clients trust us to deliver meals with exceptional quality and presentation, and this role ensures that the last step is flawless —organizing, labeling, plating, and leading packout so that our clients receive a high-touch, premium service.
The right fit will be a detailed oriented person, strong ability to recall specific information, and proficient at keeping track of moving pieces.
Initial schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (6AM–2/2:30PM), with potential to expand to additional weekdays based on performance.
Role entails:
- Labeling glassware containers with consistency and care
- Plating meals beautifully and following guidelines set by Head Chef
- Printing and organizing client menus and delivery bags
- Leading packout, ensuring accuracy and quality control
- Maintaining high quality and premium service for our client including beautiful presentation of menus, delivery bags, and containers.
- Working closely with the head chef and other team members.
- Contributing to the overall culture and business growth
- Tracking glassware, broken, communicating between dish washer, drivers, head chef, and client manager
You:
- Consider yourself highly organized
- Proficient at spreadsheets, able to track numbers and mapping them onto physical assets
- 3+ years of experience cooking professionally
- 2+ years experience in food service, catering, events, logistics, production kitchen, or other detail-oriented roles
- Have strong communication skills
- Are comfortable with using a computer, technically savvy
- Have a keen eye for detail
- Take initiative to solve problems
- Enjoy puzzles and brain exercises
- Consider yourself efficient and a quick learner
- Have a positive attitude and are flexible as challenges come your way
- Have a growth mindset
- Currently have or are willing to obtain a food handling certificate
employment type: part-time, starting at 24 hours
Pay: $23-25/hr
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 6AM-2:30PM, more hours to be added on in time
