Social Skills Interventionist (No Degree Required)

Location: Los Angeles & surrounding areas
Type: Part-time (a few hours per day)

Overview
Potential on the Rise is hiring compassionate, reliable Social Skills Interventionists to support children and young adults with autism and developmental differences. This role focuses on building social, communication, and life skills through play, movement, and real-world experiences in community settings.

This position is ideal for people who genuinely enjoy working with kids, have strong emotional awareness, and want meaningful, hands-on work that makes a difference.

Important Note
This role is social skills only.
One-to-one adaptive skills roles require a BA or BS and are not included in this posting.

What You’ll Do

Support small group and community-based social skills sessions

Use play, movement, and real-life activities to build communication and social engagement

Assist children during parks, walks, stores, and social outings

Encourage confidence, independence, and positive interactions

Follow simple guidance provided by the clinical team

Complete brief session notes

Communicate professionally with families and team members

Schedule & Hours

Part-time role

Social skills shifts are a few hours per day

Weekly hours are limited and vary based on program needs and availability

Compensation

Pay is based on experience, reliability, and role fit

This is an entry-friendly role with opportunities for growth

Requirements

No college degree required

Must be 18 years or older

Experience with children or teens (childcare, camps, coaching, mentoring, education, or similar)

Strong communication skills, patience, and emotional awareness

Reliable, punctual, and professional

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Comfortable working in community settings and being physically active

Background & Clearance Requirements

Ability to pass a criminal background check

Ability to complete required clearances and onboarding paperwork

TB test and CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

Nice to Have (Not Required)

Experience with autism or special needs

Bilingual (Spanish a plus)

Interest in child development, psychology, or education
