Job Description

Corporate Fitness Management company is recruiting for a part-time (25 hours/week) Fitness/Wellness Director to oversee coordinating fun, creative and motivational fitness activity programs for employees of a corporate fitness center located in downtown Sacramento.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversight and administration of the CalPERS Fitness Center,
• Manages new member enrollment processes and procedures,
• Leads individual and small group fitness center orientations,
• Instructs members on the proper use of fitness equipment, exercise techniques, and fitness concepts,
• Supervises and support all aspects of the on-site Group Exercise program. This includes, but is not limited to, supervising
instructors, class scheduling, announcement of class changes, recruiting and evaluating instructors, maintaining sub list, and
teaching classes as needed or on an emergency basis,
• Conducts one-to-one and small group fitness training appointments,
• Floor supervision and member interaction,
• Assists in development and implementation of motivational incentive programs and other client-sponsored wellness initiatives,
• Assists with front desk administration,
• Fitness center management software support,
• Light equipment cleaning/maintenance,
• Create bulletin board displays,
• Monthly wellness newsletter contributions,
• Perform duties as assigned by CalPERS Wellness Coordinator and Cornerstone Fitness supervisor

Scheduling and Preferred Qualifications:

Morning shifts starting at 9 am are preferred, but there is some work shift flexibility.

Candidate shall have a nationally accredited fitness training certification and have a minimum of one-year experience working in this certification capacity, or Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field. Experience in a corporate, clinical, or commercial fitness/wellness program, is a plus. Must have current CPR and AED certifications.

Candidate must have excellent computer, customer service, and organizational skills, excellent understanding of fitness training and nutrition principles, creative and people oriented.

The ability to teach Group Exercise classes is a plus. Additional opportunities to teach classes, or sub, will be paid on a per class basis commensurate with experience. If you have experience as an instructor, please list class formats, and any appropriate certifications from an accredited certification provider (AFFA, ACE, etc.)
