Part Time Pastry Cook/Laminator

We’re looking for someone with a pastry or bread production background who is looking to specialize in lamination. Ideally, you have hands-on experience with lamination, but we are willing to train the right individual. This person needs to have a sense of urgency, be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and a working knowledge of leavened pastries. Scheduling will be very flexible. Please have a minimum of 1 year commercial pastry or bread experience.

Madrona is a bakery, retail shop, and event space in Downtown Mill Valley. We specialize in making laminated pastries, wood fired bread, and excellent coffee. Our products are made with locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever possible, and we are deeply committed to sustainable packaging. What will your responsibilities be?

- scaling and mixing croissant dough
- production of all laminated goods
- production of all fills for laminated goods (including cutting cheeses, prepping chocolate mixes, chocolate batons, pastry creams, jams, etc)
- work in tandem with head chef and existing staff on menu development
- occasionally prepping glazes, fills, fruit/veg for service, etc
- tracking use of product and communicating ordering needs
- previous experience with wood fired ovens or lamination is a plus!
- maintain mindful and detail-oriented hospitality
- communicate kindly
- keep your station and equipment clean at all times
- always be learning about pastries and bread
- using locks and our alarm system
- carrying up to 50 lbs
- support and work together with the rest of the team

Pay: $20-24/hr, based on experience
Pastry production experience: minimum of 1 year
