Job Description

Marin Montessori School is seeking an Operations Support Manager who enjoys helping a school run smoothly and supporting the people who make our work possible each day. This role plays a key part in coordinating daily staffing needs, ensuring consistent substitute coverage, and supporting compliance with licensing requirements and student-to-child ratios. The Operations Support Manager serves as a hiring manager for substitute staff, provides guidance and oversight to ensure quality support in classrooms, and maintains regular early-morning and evening communication to help operations run seamlessly. This position also offers administrative and front desk support and works closely with school leadership, including the Director of Admissions, to ensure a welcoming and well-supported school community. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet the evolving needs of the school or department.

This is an immediate hire. The position works a 12-month school calendar year. This is an exempt, full-time (30-hour/week) position; hours TBD.

Salary Range: $70,000–$90,000 annually (full-time equivalent, based on a 30-hour workweek).
Actual salary will be determined based on experience and the agreed-upon weekly schedule. Positions with a higher or lower weekly hour commitment will have compensation adjusted proportionally.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, health and dental insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan.

This is an especially exciting time to join Marin Montessori School, a highly regarded Bay Area independent school accredited by both the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS). Located on a stunning waterfront campus, our children enjoy expansive indoor and outdoor learning experiences year-round. Our sunlit classrooms and vibrant outdoor environments foster curiosity and independence. We are a collaborative and joyful community of educators, students, families, and administrators, all aligned in our mission: to guide children in becoming independent, responsible, and compassionate individuals who think critically and understand their role in the world.

Key Responsibilities:

-Coordinate health and safety communications, monitor illness-related absences, and support responses to public health guidance.
-Provide operational and administrative support, including occasional front desk coverage, carline oversight, and parking coordination.
-Serve as a liaison to the Parent Association and support schoolwide events.
-Support admissions outreach, ambassador coordination, events, and communication workflows.
-Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:
-Experience in operations, staffing coordination, or school administration preferred
-Knowledge of licensing requirements and student-to-child ratios (or ability to learn quickly)
-Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
-Ability to manage time-sensitive situations calmly and efficiently
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to supervise staff and manage hiring processes
-Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional extended hours as needed
