Aerial Fiber Technician

Aerial Drop Technician / Burial Crew – Responsibilities

Install and maintain aerial fiber drops using bucket trucks and pole-climbing techniques

Safely climb utility poles and structures in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards

Perform underground fiber burial, including trenching, conduit placement, and restoration

Operate bucket trucks, ladders, and construction equipment safely and efficiently

Splice fiber optic cables per schematics and technical specifications

Troubleshoot and repair fiber, LAN, Ethernet, WAN, and telephony infrastructure in the field

Read and interpret construction prints, wiring diagrams, and network schematics

Ensure proper grounding and low-voltage electrical connections

Maintain accurate job documentation, photos, and material usage records

Adhere to all safety procedures, including climbing, traffic control, and electrical safety

Requirements / Qualifications

Proven experience with aerial fiber drops and/or underground burial work

Comfortable climbing poles and working at heights

Experience operating bucket trucks and working around utility infrastructure

Strong understanding of fiber splicing, cabling, and low-voltage systems

Proficient with hand tools and power tools used in telecom construction

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Must have own vehicle capable of securely transporting a ladder

Must have own tools (tool list provided upon request)

Valid driver’s license preferred
