Job Description

Established Orange County based Plaintiffs Personal Injury law firm is seeking a full time, bilingual (Spanish/English) Pre-litigation Assistant. Applicant must have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in plaintiffs personal injury case management, with a working knowledge of opening claims with insurance carriers, auto accident property damage and loss of use claims, reimbursement procedures for Medi-Cal/Medicare/other government provided benefits, Medical Payments coverage demands and reimbursements, compiling supporting documents to establish liability against at-fault parties, and working with clients to advance health care treatment for their injuries. The assistant will be part of an attorney-lead team and be responsible for the daily handling of the cases assigned to them from retention until settlement or commencement of a lawsuit. Effective communication is a must, as the assistants will have interactions daily with clients on the status and future steps of their cases. Our office operates in a paperless environment, so an understanding of Microsoft Office products is also a necessity.

Requirements:
Must be Bilingual.
1-2 years+ experience in PI Case Management.
Ability to handle a large caseload (80+ files), including client communication.
Ability to review and analyze medical records.

Job Duties:
Maintaining an organized file to ensure proper and timely handling of the case.

Scheduling client medical appointments and monitoring medical treatments for clients.
Preparing and opening files.
Filing claims with insurance companies.
Sending initial letters to insurance companies.
Communicating with adjustors regarding property damage and loss of use.
Verify Medi-Cal/Medicare/Government benefits.
Requesting supporting damages documents, including medical records, police reports, loss of earnings, witness statements, etc...
Communicate with team attorney for handling of case.
Assisting attorney with settlement procedures.
