Sacramento Farmers Market Assistant – Saturdays at Midtown Market

Are you passionate about local food, community, and spending your Saturdays outdoors? We’re looking for a friendly, reliable person who lives in Sacramento to help us at the Midtown Farmers Market every Saturday from 8am to 1pm.

About the Position:
This is an assistant role, working side-by-side with our main Farmers Market Representative. You’ll help make each market day a success and learn the ins and outs of running a farmers market booth.

Duties Include:
• Assist with loading and unloading the market vehicle (some heavy lifting required)
• Help set up our booth in just 30 minutes
• Support the team rain or shine—markets are year-round! Take care of yourself and help protect our products from the elements
• Operate our Square point of sale app on an iPad and Bluetooth card reader
• Accept cash payments and make change for customers
• Fill out a simple farmers market invoice worksheet for each market day
• Learn about our products and share your knowledge with customers—talk about ingredients, how things are made, and what makes our offerings special

Requirements:
• Able to repeatedly stoop and lift, and can lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable standing for long periods
• Friendly, outgoing, and eager to learn

Pay & Perks:
• $18.50 per hour starting wage
• Take home or trade up to three loaves’ worth of our products each market day
