Assistant Interior Designer - Part Time with Possibility to Grow to Full Time
We're seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Interior Designer to join our Marin-based team on a part-time basis.
About the Role:
This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their interior design career. You'll work closely with our senior designer on high-end residential projects all over the Bay Area and in Oregon, helping bring our clients' visions to life.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing design concepts, mood boards, and presentations for client meetings
Create and revise floor plans, elevations, and renderings using design software
Source furniture, fixtures, materials, and finishes within project budgets
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers
Prepare material samples and specification sheets
Oversee furniture deliveries and track orders for all clients
Conduct site visits and take measurements as needed
Maintain project files and design library organization
Support with client communication and project documentation
Qualifications:
Degree in Interior Design
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
Strong understanding of color theory, spatial planning, and design principles
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Portfolio demonstrating design work (required)
Details:
Part-time position: 15-25 hours per week (flexible scheduling available)
Competitive hourly rate based on experience
