WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Junior Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the finance department, supporting the COO and ensuring accurate financial reporting and data management.

*** This is an onsite position, and we are not accepting remote or hybrid work. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to Redlands, CA. We are unable to support sponsorship for employment, at this moment.***

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Prepare monthly financial overviews for the CEO and COO that outline departmental performance.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks, including journal entries and data entry, while managing QuickBooks.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Review and reconcile bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the design and implementation of financial controls and processes to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial information and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and assist in the completion of the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Provide a weekly work summary of completed tasks to the COO and participate in finance meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Highly organized self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
