Seasonal (June-October) Part-Time Gardener / Grounds & Event Readiness

Small family-owned/operated wedding venue seeking a reliable, detail-oriented part-time gardener / grounds & maintenance assistant. This role focuses on keeping the property event-ready and looking polished for weddings and events. Our season runs from June-October.

Schedule
• Part-time, flexible weekday hours
• ~ 10 hours per week
• Optional paid event shifts (typically Saturdays between the hours of 9am-11pm)

Duties
• Garden and landscape maintenance (weeding, pruning, planting, watering)— prior experience preferred as we have curated many perennials and established landscaping that needs to be cared for.
• Lawn care and seasonal cleanup
• Light handyman tasks (minor repairs, light painting/touch-ups, securing fixtures, assembly of furniture, etc.)
• Preparing outdoor and common areas ahead of events— keeping the grounds looking “wedding ready” at all times
• Assisting with quick fixes and troubleshooting as needed

Event responsibilities:
Before event start: place tables/chairs in approved layout, setup/decor placement, ensure bathrooms are stocked/clean.

During event: work as “crowd control management” (paid online training required), follow instructions given by lead event staff, monitor common areas for trash disposal, ensure safety of guests and vendors.

After event ends: clean up trash/disposable items and put them in onsite-dumpsters, bag up table linens, safely pack up/consolidate decor items, secure any leftover alcohol by locking in onsite-storage, fold chairs and prepare the space for cleaning crew.

Must Be
• Reliable and punctual
• Detail-oriented and presentation-focused
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively/following directions
• Physically able to perform outdoor/manual work (squatting, kneeling, lifting at least 50 pounds)
• Transportation required

If working events, additional requirements:
• Professional, friendly and calm around guests. Comfortable enforcing safety/venue rules and guidelines. Observant of what needs to be done and “jumping in” while also taking directions.

Pay
$20/hr paid weekly via check or electronic payments (Venmo, PayPal)
