RUFF HAUS K9 IS NOW HIRING A DOG TRAINER / APPRENTICE

Location: Kings Park, NY
Facility: Board and Train in Owner's Home

Are you passionate about dogs and eager to learn the art of dog training?
We are seeking a dedicated Dog Trainer/Apprentice to join our Board & Train facility. This role offers a unique hands-on opportunity to work with a variety of breeds and training techniques.

Responsibilities:

-Conduct poop scooping and general cleaning of kennels.
-Train dogs using positive reinforcement and E-Collar techniques.
-Supervise daycare dogs and ensure their safety and well-being.
-Feed dogs and manage dinner times.
-Organize and supervise play sessions.
-Conduct 2 to 3 training sessions for each dog, daily.
-Collaborate with the Head Trainer/Owner to document training progress through video recordings of sessions.

Qualifications:

-A love for dogs and a desire to learn about dog training.
-Ability to work well with animals and handle various breeds.
-Strong communication and organizational skills.
-Previous experience in dog handling or training is a plus, but not required.
-Comfort with video recording and sharing progress with the Head Trainer/Owner.

Compensation: $16-$18 per hour with a yearly performance raise.
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sundays 2-7/8pm
with various shifts adding up to 20-25 hours per week.
