Job Title: Certified Spray Technician
Position Summary
The Certified Spray Technician is responsible for the safe, accurate, and compliant application of herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers to maintain healthy landscape areas. This position ensures all chemical applications are performed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining high standards of safety, environmental responsibility, and customer service. The ideal candidate is dependable, experienced, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Apply herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers to landscaped areas, turf, trees, shrubs, and planting beds.
· Identify weeds, pests, turf diseases, and plant health issues and recommend appropriate treatment solutions.
· Mix and apply chemicals according to label instructions and regulatory requirements.
· Calibrate and maintain spray equipment to ensure proper application rates and coverage.
· Monitor weather conditions to ensure safe and effective applications.
· Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, application dates, target areas, and reporting documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
· Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Communicate with supervisors and property managers regarding treatment schedules, site conditions, and follow-up needs.
· Maintain clean and organized vehicles, spray rigs, and equipment.
· Work independently to complete assigned routes and tasks efficiently and safely.
· Assist with general landscape maintenance duties when needed.
· Maintain accurate records of treatments applied and follow all regulatory guidelines.
· Maintain storage of spray materials per regulatory guidelines and be ready for inspections.

Qualifications
· Valid State Certified Applicator License. (Ornamental & Turf and Right of Way)
· Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial spray applications.
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Applicant must provide a 3-year driving record at time of application.
· Working knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM) practices.
· Understanding of chemical labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and application regulations.
· Ability to operate spray rigs, backpack sprayers, and related equipment.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
· Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor as required.

· Exposure to chemicals, dust, heat, and varying weather conditions.
· Early morning start times may be required.
