Set Culinary Lead – FAMILY DINNER (Digital Comedy Series)

Location: Los Angeles
Shoot Dates: Feb 28 – March 2
Compensation: $350 per day (4 days) + $1000 food budget

We are producing FAMILY DINNER, a scripted digital comedy series told entirely around a dinner table. We are looking for a Set Culinary Lead to handle all meals that appear on camera and are eaten by the cast.

This is not a food styling role and not a catering job.

We need someone who can cook real, safe, edible meals for four cast members on camera across 30 episodes. The food should feel authentic, varied, and delicious — not commercialized or artificially styled.

What You’ll Do:

Plan simple but visually appealing dinner menus across 30 episodes

Prepare small-batch meals (4–6 portions per dish)

Ensure all food is safe for consumption and held properly during shoot days

Provide backup plates for coverage and retakes

Coordinate with production regarding dietary restrictions

Plate food in a way that looks natural on camera

Maintain a clean and organized food prep area on set

What This Is Not

Not a sheet-pan catering job

Not a glycerin-spray food styling gig

Not a craft services position

We are looking for someone who understands dinner, not someone trying to fake it.

Ideal Background

Private chef experience

Culinary school training or equivalent professional kitchen experience

Comfortable cooking a variety of cuisines

Experience working in production environments is a plus

Calm under pressure and collaborative

Tone & Creative

The show is comedic and grounded. The food should feel like real family meals — pasta nights, roast chicken, casseroles, salads, takeout-inspired spreads, etc.

Think authentic dinner party, not commercial shoot.

Time Commitment

Prep may be done offsite

3–4 consecutive shoot days

Potential for recurring collaboration on future blocks
