Arctic Cowboy Air Conditioning & Heating is a growing, family-owned HVAC company serving Tucson and the surrounding communities including Oro Valley, Marana, Green Valley, and Sierra Vista. We are currently looking for a motivated Entry-Level HVAC Helper who is eager to learn the trade and grow within the HVAC industry.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience and long-term career growth in heating, air conditioning, installation, and service. We are seeking a dependable team player with a strong work ethic who is willing to learn and assist in both residential and light commercial HVAC work.
Position Overview:
The Entry-Level HVAC Helper will assist lead technicians with system installations, maintenance, and service calls while learning industry best practices, safety standards, and technical skills. This role is designed to develop into a floating technician position supporting both the install and service departments as skills and experience grow.
Schedule & Hours (Important):
This position is hourly and work hours may range from approximately 25–40 hours per week depending on seasonal workload, job scheduling, and business needs. Hours may increase during peak seasons and decrease during slower periods in accordance with Arizona labor standards. Flexibility and reliability are essential.
Pay:
• $25.00+ per hour D.O.E.
• Paid hourly for all hours worked in compliance with Arizona wage laws
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with HVAC system installations (split systems, package units, mini splits, etc.)
• Support technicians on service and maintenance calls
• Carry tools, materials, and equipment safely
• Help with system cleanings, basic maintenance, and job site preparation
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and company vehicles
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards
• Learn HVAC fundamentals, airflow basics, and installation practices
Growth Opportunity:
This position is intended to be a training pathway into a floating HVAC technician role that can support both installation and service departments as skills develop. We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the HVAC trade.
Minimum Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions and lift 50+ lbs
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Punctual, professional, and dependable
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening in accordance with company policy
Preferred (Not Required):
• Basic mechanical experience
• Trade school or construction experience
• Interest in obtaining EPA Certification in the future
Work Environment:
Work will be performed in residential, commercial, and light industrial environments including attics, rooftops, and mechanical spaces typical of HVAC service and installation work in Southern Arizona.
