Job Description

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter and/or Sandblaster for a Temp-to-Perm opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona. This role supports heavy industrial field operations involving surface preparation and protective coating applications. We’re looking for dependable professionals with hands-on experience who take pride in safety, quality workmanship, and are seeking a long-term opportunity.

Pay & Schedule
•$24–$30/hour DOE
•1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday–Friday
•Overtime available during peak times
• 90% field work (same-day travel, out and back)

Work Environment
This is a field-based role supporting heavy industrial job sites with same-day travel. Work may include:
•Exposure to LOTO procedures
•Working at elevated heights
•Operating around loud machinery
•Exposure to dust and abrasive blasting media
•Both indoor and outdoor environments
•PPE required at all times

Key Responsibilities
•Perform industrial sandblasting and painting on structural steel, tanks, piping, and industrial equipment
•Prepare surfaces using abrasive blasting techniques for proper coating profiles
•Apply industrial coatings, primers, and protective finishes per project specifications
•Inspect work to ensure quality and compliance with project standards
•Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on blasting and painting equipment
•Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

Required Qualifications
•3+ years of industrial painting or sandblasting experience in field environments
•Experience with industrial structures and equipment (no residential or commercial painting)
•Knowledge of surface preparation methods and industrial coating applications
•Ability to maintain blasting/painting equipment
•Comfortable working in heat, heights, and confined spaces
•Reliable transportation and ability to start at 5:00 AM

Preferred
•Familiarity with SSPC standards
•Experience with epoxies, polyurethanes, and zinc-rich primers
•OSHA 10/30, Confined Space, or Fall Protection certifications
