Weekday Stable Assistant – Summer Position

Torreon Equestrian Center (TEC) is seeking a dependable and experienced Weekday Stable Assistant to join our team for the summer season (April 20th through Oct 31st).

Position Overview:
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and around horses. The primary responsibility is daily stall cleaning (Monday–Friday), along with assisting in the general care and upkeep of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
* Clean stalls daily (Monday–Friday)
* Rebed stalls as needed
* Hand-walk horses to and from turnouts.
* Operate a small utility tractor and Bobcat.
* Lift, move, and adjust heavy stall mats as needed.
* Assist with seasonal facility preparation, including: Raking and removing pinecones and needles. Power washing barns. General spring cleanup and setup and washing building windows

The position begins approximately two weeks before opening to help prepare the facility for the season. The General Manager will work alongside the assistant during this time. Additional hours may be possible during these two weeks.

Schedule & Pay
Hours: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 5 days per week
Pay: $20 per hour
Seasonal commitment: Start date April 20th through October
Onsite interviews: will be held April 1st and 2nd.

Qualifications:
* Prior experience working around horses required
* Experience cleaning horse stalls
* Calm and confident demeanor around animals
* Ability to operate small equipment (tractor/Bobcat)
* Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy stall mats
* Reliable transportation
* Clear English communication skills
* Non-smoker (TEC is a non-smoking facility)
