Job Title: Unarmed Security Guard

Job Summary

We are seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Unarmed Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our cannabis dispensary, staff, patients/customers, and assets. The ideal candidate will maintain a visible presence, monitor premises, verify identification, and respond appropriately to incidents while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and control access to the dispensary entrance.

Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with state and local cannabis regulations.

Maintain a visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, and other criminal activity.

Conduct routine patrols of the interior and exterior of the property.

Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems.

Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances.

Complete detailed incident and daily activity reports.

Coordinate with management and law enforcement when necessary.

Ensure compliance with company policies and state regulations.

Provide courteous assistance to customers and staff while maintaining security protocols.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Valid state-issued Security Guard License (if required by state law).

Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred.

Strong observational and conflict resolution skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.

Must be at least 21 years of age (may vary by state).

Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Skills

Experience working in retail or cannabis environments.

Knowledge of state cannabis compliance laws.

CPR/First Aid certification.

Work Environment

Indoor and outdoor patrols.

Fast-paced retail environment.

May require long periods of standing and monitoring.
