Job Description
19 Raw Oyster Bar & Prime Steakhouse in Edgartown, MA is heading into our 10th season, and we’re looking for a Front of House Manager who knows how to run a busy dining room.
We’re a high-volume oyster bar and steakhouse that serves hundreds of guests a day during peak summer season. The pace is real, the standards are high, and the team depends on strong leadership to keep service running smoothly.
This role is for someone who is confident on the floor, understands hospitality at a high level, and can lead a team through busy nights without losing focus.
Responsibilities include:
• Leading the dining room during service
• Managing hosts, servers, and support staff
• Maintaining service standards and guest experience
• Coordinating with the kitchen during high-volume service
• Problem solving quickly and professionally
• Keeping the team organized and accountable
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has restaurant management experience
• Is calm and decisive during busy shifts
• Communicates clearly with staff and guests
• Understands both hospitality and structure
• Takes pride in running a tight service
About the seasonal aspect
Martha’s Vineyard is a summer destination island off the coast of Massachusetts. Restaurants here operate at full speed from spring through fall. Many hospitality professionals come for the season to work hard, make strong money, gain serious high-volume experience, and live on the island for the summer.
If you’ve never worked a seasonal market before, it’s intense, rewarding, and a great way to build experience quickly. Many people return year after year.
Season runs April through October.
Housing is included.
