Position: FOH Manager
Schedule: Full-time (Weekends required)
Hours of Operation: Open 6 days/week, approximately 11:30am–6:00pm

About the Role

We are a family-owned, growing waterfront restaurant in Moss Landing seeking a confident, hands-on Front of House Manager to lead service, manage people, and uphold high standards for guest experience.

This is a floor-based leadership role for someone who leads by example, stays calm under pressure, and runs service with clarity and control. You will be responsible for team performance, service flow, guest recovery, ordering and inventory, and seamless communication between FOH and BOH.

Core Responsibilities

Service Leadership & Flow

-Lead front of house service during shifts and ensure smooth, professional execution
-Oversee seating, pacing, table turns, and floor organization
-Maintain service standards and correct issues in real time
-Handle guest concerns and service recovery with professionalism and authority
-Ensure a consistent, high-quality guest experience every shift

People Management & Accountability

-Manage, coach, and hold accountable FOH staff (servers, hosts, bussers, bartenders as applicable)
-Set expectations, enforce standards, and address performance issues promptly
-Run pre-shifts and lead by example on the floor
-Train new hires and mentor team members for growth and consistency
-Create a professional, respectful culture with clear ownership

BOH Communication & Coordination

-Maintain tight communication with the kitchen during service
-Manage ticket flow, timing issues, allergies, modifications, and 86’d items
-Prevent service breakdowns through proactive leadership and clear communication

Ordering, Inventory & Operations

-Own FOH ordering and inventory (supplies, paper goods, beverages as applicable)
-Maintain par levels, minimize waste, and keep storage organized
-Oversee opening and closing procedures
-Ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards are upheld
-Support management with basic reporting, checklists, and operational follow-through

Requirements

-3–5+ years restaurant experience, including FOH leadership (manager, lead, or supervisor level)
-Proven ability to lead teams, enforce standards, and hold staff accountable
-Strong guest service and conflict resolution skills
-Organized, detail-oriented, and operationally disciplined
-Calm, decisive leadership style during high-volume service
-Strong communication skills with both FOH and BOH teams
-Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and service best practices
-Physically able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Bonus Qualifications

-High-volume or fast-paced restaurant background
-Experience with POS systems, reservations/waitlist tools, and cash handling
-Beverage or bar ordering experience
-Hospitality training or management coursework
