Line Cook

Sunny's Local Grind is seeking an experienced and reliable Line Cook to join our kitchen team in Waikiki. We're a locally-owned coffee shop committed to quality food, exceptional service, and creating a positive work environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation

- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before and after service

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, equipment, and storage spaces throughout shift

- Follow all food safety protocols including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control

- Communicate effectively with team members during service to ensure smooth operations

- Assist with prep work, inventory checks, and kitchen cleaning duties as needed

- Adapt to menu changes and learn new recipes as introduced

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum 1-2 years experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role

- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Reliable attendance and punctuality

- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

- Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

- Reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in a full service café or coffee shop setting

- Hawaii Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire)

- Familiarity with breakfast and lunch service
