Passionate Worship Leader Wanted

Crossroads Lutheran Church (ELCA) exists to see lives transformed by God’s grace through 1. Preaching Boldly, 2. Worshiping Wholeheartedly, 3. Praying Expectantly and 4. Loving Much. In collaboration with the Pastor, the Worship Leader oversees the worship experience at Crossroads and is responsible for the direct cultivation and discipleship of the music team(s) and tech team(s). Crossroads blends both hymns and current worship music, both Multi-track and live instruments, both liturgical and extemporaneous elements in our worship experience. We are shaped by a deep commitment to God’s Word and inspired by the reforming movement of Martin Luther. We are a small, but growing congregation that currently has about 8 music team volunteers and 3 tech team volunteers and is looking to double that number in the next year.

- Roles, Responsibilities, and Qualifications -

Worship Leadership:
- possesses a personal passion for worshiping God and inspiring others to worship
- lead in song by playing an instrument (Guitar or Piano) and singing
- prays extemporaneously and shares about their faith
- demonstrates a basic knowledge of Christian seasons and celebrations

Music and Tech:
- is familiar with worship songs and hymns both new and old
- collaborates with Pastor and others to design worship flow
- select, prepare and disperse music to musicians
- has experience playing with MultiTracks and inner-ear monitors, or willing to learn
- organize and maintain a music library
- familiar with sound systems and equipment
- produces presentation slides (ProPresenter/Canva) for worship

Team Leadership:
- worship and Tech Team volunteer recruitment, training and management
- creates an enthusiastic, servant-hearted atmosphere among volunteer teams
- effectively rehearse a band
- disciples musicians in their faith along the way
- position requires a national background check and proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Sample Weekly Activities: 8 hr a week
2.5 hrs - Sunday Morning Worship (8am rehearsal, 9:15 -10:30am service)
1.5 hr - Worship planning and staff meeting with pastor/staff
1 hr - Music preparation and filing
1 hr - Scheduling and communications
1 hr - Visuals and tech (Presenter slides, videos and graphics)
1 hr - Team recruitment, training and discipleship
