Job Description
A family member is assisting a disabled veteran in finding a responsible college student to provide part-time to full-time daily support and mobility assistance related to service-connected physical and neurological limitations.
This position is ideal for a college or graduate student seeking a second job, particularly someone pursuing studies related to child care or early childhood education, who wants flexible hours, meaningful experience, and a schedule that allows time for academic responsibilities.
Schedule & Living Arrangement
Part-time, flexible schedule designed to fit around classes and existing employment
Live-in or non-live-in options available
If live-in, a private bedroom and personal space will be provided
Some overnight coverage may be requested if the caregiver is available, with advance notice
Designated downtime during shifts allows time to work on school assignments, especially during overnight or low-activity periods
You will be part of a small team with two other part-time caretakers, allowing shared coverage and flexible scheduling
Hours, boundaries, and expectations will be clearly defined in advance
Responsibilities May Include
Assistance with mobility and balance (fall-risk safety)
Support with daily routines and task organization
Light household assistance related to safety and accessibility
Occasional accompaniment to appointments or errands
General supportive presence to promote independence and safety
⚠ This is not a medical or nursing position.
Preferred Candidate
Current college or graduate student
Seeking a flexible second job alongside school or other employment
Dependable, patient, and communicative
Comfortable assisting someone with mobility limitations
Students studying child development, early childhood education, child care, family studies, or related fields are encouraged to apply (not required)
Compensation
$25–$35 per hour, depending on availability, experience, and responsibilities
Housing (if live-in) may be included as part of compensation
Flexible arrangements compatible with academic and work schedules
This is a professional, non-exclusive support role. The caregiver maintains their own personal life, relationships, and academic or employment commitments.
How to Apply
Interested individuals should respond with:
A brief introduction
School and program of study (optional)
Current work/school schedule
Availability (live-in or non-live-in, and overnight availability if applicable)
