Stone Fabricator Position

Fabrication of natural and manmade stone in a local factory with a focus on Safety, Quality and Efficiency as the priorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
· Keep an efficient, clean and organized work area.
· Strong measuring tape reading & math skills.
· Understanding of safety requirements.
· Ability to cut or shape stone according to drawings and/or templates.
· Ability to perform all types of edge and surface work.
· Ability to hone and refinish polished faces on marble, granite, soapstone, limestone, quartz, and porcelain.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum six months’ related stone experience and or training

LANGUAGE SKILLS
-Read and comprehend simple drawings and safety instructions.
-Communicate well with other staff and manager.
-Spanish and English skills are ideal; bilingual is not required.

MATH & REASONING SKILLS
-Add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
-Common sense understanding to carry out written, oral or diagram instruction.
-Good problem solving skills are important.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis; stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, handling, and some repetitive motions.
The maximum amount of weight required to be lifted will be less than 100 pounds.

Full Time Position, 40 hours per week, Pay starts at $22/ hr depending on experience.
