Experienced Swim Instructor

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Swim Instructor to join our growing year-round swim program. This role is ideal for an instructor who is confident teaching all ages and skill levels, values safety and structure, and enjoys helping maintain a high-quality instructional environment.

This position offers consistent hours, a supportive team environment, and opportunities for increased responsibility based on experience and performance.



Responsibilities

Teach private and semi-private swim lessons to students of all ages (infants through adults)
Provide safe, structured, and engaging swim instruction
Confidently assess swimmer skill levels and adjust instruction accordingly
Maintain a positive, professional experience for swimmers and families
Assist with lesson organization, swimmer progress tracking, and daily setup
Support consistency in teaching methods and safety standards
Communicate clearly with parents regarding swimmer progress when needed




Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of verifiable swim instruction experience
Experience teaching multiple age groups and skill levels
Current CPR/AED and Lifeguard Certification
Strong knowledge of water safety and lesson progression
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team


Preferred Qualifications

Former competitive swimmer, water polo player, or swim team athlete
Background in USA Swimming, high school, collegiate, or club-level aquatics
Experience with structured stroke development and competitive fundamentals
Strong understanding of body positioning, efficiency, and technique correction
Experience working in a fast-paced or high-standard swim program environment
Natural leadership presence and ability to set a positive example for other instructors
Long-term interest in aquatics instruction and program growth




Compensation

$30–$40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Consistent weekly hours available
Opportunities for additional hours and expanded responsibilities over time
