Part-Time Inside Sales / Customer Outreach - Fabric– Boyle Heights

Fabric Merchants Inc. is a long-established wholesale fabric company based in Boyle Heights (East Los Angeles). We are looking for a reliable, part-time inside sales person to help us proactively reach out to existing and dormant customers and support our outside sales reps.

This is not retail sales and not a remote position. This is an in-office role in a wholesale environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Making daily outbound calls and emails to existing and dormant customers

Following up with outside sales reps to update them on available fabrics

Introducing customers to:

New arrivals

Overstock fabrics

Closeouts (with pricing guidelines)

Matching customer needs with available inventory

Tracking basic outreach and follow-ups

Working closely with the owner and office team

Schedule

Part-time: 20–25 hours per week

In-office required (Boyle Heights)

Weekday mornings / early afternoons preferred

Consistent schedule required

Pay

$20–$22/hour, depending on experience

3–4% commission on profitable orders you generate

Commission paid only on paid orders that meet margin requirements

This role is designed to pay for itself quickly and grow based on results.

Who This Is For

Comfortable on the phone and with follow-ups

Organized, reliable, and self-motivated

Interested in sales, wholesale, or business operations

An interest in fabric, fashion, or textiles is a plus, but not required

Wholesale, textile, or inside sales experience is a plus (not required)

Recent graduates welcome

Must be comfortable working in an industrial/warehouse office environment

Who This Is NOT For

No retail sales

No remote work

No travel or trade shows

No website or warehouse management
