Construction Foreman

Job Summary

The Residential Construction Foreman oversees day-to-day operations on residential construction sites, including new home builds, remodels, and renovations. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while coordinating crews, subcontractors, and materials to keep projects on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate residential construction crews and subcontractors

Plan and assign daily work activities to meet project timelines

Read and interpret residential blueprints, plans, and specifications

Ensure all work meets local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards

Monitor workmanship and ensure high-quality finishes

Coordinate deliveries of materials and manage on-site inventory

Communicate progress, issues, and change requests

Train and mentor crew members in residential construction best practices

Maintain daily logs, timecards, and jobsite documentation

Ensure job sites remain clean, organized, and safe for homeowners and neighbors

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

3–5 years of residential construction experience required

Prior experience leading crews or acting as a lead carpenter or foreman

Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, tools, and materials

Ability to read house plans, elevations, and details

Familiarity with local building codes and inspection processes

Excellent communication and customer-service skills

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods
