About the Role
We are a High-End Drywall Contractor serving the San Francisco Bay Area, known for high-quality commercial and residential construction. We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Professional to spearhead our growth by identifying new project opportunities and securing partnerships with General Contractors, Real Estate Developers, and Property Management companies.
This is a strategic, "hunter" role designed for a self-motivated professional who thrives on networking and closing deals. You will act as the bridge between new projects and our estimating team.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting: Actively identify and engage with GCs, Developers, and Property Managers in the SF Bay Area to get our firm on "Invitation to Bid" (ITB) lists.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of partners; attend industry networking events (BIA, NAIOP, etc.) to represent the brand.
Project Qualification: Review upcoming project leads to ensure they align with our capabilities and profit goals before passing them to our Estimating department.
Bid Presentation: Collaborate with our Estimators to deliver professional proposals to clients, assisting in the "closing" phase and addressing client concerns.
Contract Negotiation: Facilitate discussions regarding scope, timelines, and payment terms to move projects from "bid" to "signed contract."
Market Intelligence: Stay informed on new developments and major construction projects breaking ground in the region.
The Ideal Candidate
Strategic Relationship Builder “The Connector”: We are looking for a "hunter" who can navigate the SF Bay Area construction landscape. While an existing network is a plus, the ideal candidate is someone who can leverage our established database of industry contacts to identify key decision-makers, secure meetings, and rapidly expand our footprint with General Contractors and Developers.
The Closer: You are comfortable working on a high-upside commission structure and possess the discipline to manage your own schedule.
Qualifications
Proven Sales Experience: 3+ years in construction sales, building materials, or B2B business development (Construction experience preferred).
Industry Knowledge: Ability to speak confidently about construction cycles, blueprints, and the specific needs of commercial and residential job sites.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for professional email correspondence and face-to-face meetings.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using CRM tools and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to track leads.
Mobility: Must have reliable transportation for site visits and client meetings throughout the Bay Area.
