Outdoor Power Equipment Technician - Mechanic

*****Please Read First**** We’ve previously hired several technicians with very strong vehicle maintenance skills, but without specific small engine knowledge, it did not work out. Outdoor power equipment requires a very different skill set, and experience with larger automotive systems doesn’t necessarily translate. please do not apply unless you have extensive hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing outdoor power equipment specifically, in all capacities.

We’re looking for a highly skilled Small Engine / 2-Cycle Technician to join our busy, reputable service department. Our ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and confident working with all major outdoor power equipment brands.

All new hires will begin with a 3–6 month probationary period. This allows us to evaluate your mechanical abilities, work quality, efficiency, and overall fit within our service department. During this period, pay will be based on demonstrated skill level. At the end of the probation period, we will conduct a performance and pay review, with the opportunity for a rate adjustment of $5-10 above starting pay based on your proven abilities.

Employment is subject to a background check after a conditional offer.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines
Service chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, mowers, and commercial equipment
Perform warranty repairs for major brands
Maintain clean, organized, efficient work habits
Communicate clearly with service advisors and customers when needed
Requirements:

Strong experience with 2-cycle equipment (highly preferred)
Solid mechanical skills and troubleshooting ability
Reliability, professionalism, and pride in workmanship
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
