Experienced Bookkeeper for a CPA firm

About the Role

We are a CPA firm seeking an experienced Part-Time Remote Contractor Bookkeeper to support our accounting and tax team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who has previously worked in a CPA firm environment and is comfortable working independently in a remote, deadline-driven public accounting setting.



Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and timely bookkeeping for multiple client accounts
Perform bookkeeping and account maintenance using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and/or QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT)
Record transactions, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and review general ledgers
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
Assist with adjusting journal entries, account clean-ups, and historical corrections
Support CPA staff with year-end close and tax preparation readiness


Required Qualifications

Prior experience working for a CPA firm or public accounting firm (required)
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently in a remote environment
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Reliable internet connection and ability to work securely from a remote location
Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with both QBO and QBDT
Experience supporting tax preparation or year-end close engagements
Familiarity with firm workflow tools, automation, and client portals
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
