Part-Time Academic Tutor (1099) – Math / Science / STEM

Smart Mentor & Prep is a private education company specializing in academic consulting and one-on-one tutoring for students of varying skill levels and learning styles. We are currently seeking experienced academic tutors to work with middle school, high school, and occasional college students.

This is a part-time, independent contractor (1099) role with flexible scheduling.
Subjects Needed (one or more):
Math (Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus)
AP Environmental Science
ACT/SAT test prep
Biology
Physics
Other STEM subjects (please specify)

Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one tutoring tailored to individual students needs and goals
Explain concepts clearly and efficiently; adapt to different learning styles
Help students with coursework, exams, and academic organization
Communicate professionally with students and families
Be reliable, prepared, and punctual for sessions

Requirements:
Strong subject-matter knowledge and confidence in at least one listed subject
Prior tutoring, teaching, or academic instruction experience preferred/expected
Professional communication and demeanor

Reliable availability during afternoons, evenings, or weekends
Comfortable working as an independent contractor (1099)
Compensation:
Hourly, competitive, based on experience and subject(s)
Consistent work available for strong tutors

Location:
Mostly Remote and/or in-person if interested (location-dependent)
