June Bug’s Gymnastics Center
June Bug’s Gym is seeking a passionate, organized, and energetic Gym Operations Director to lead our children’s gymnastics program.This leadership role is ideal for someone who loves working with kids, supporting coaches, and creating a fun, safe, and positive learning environment.
About the Role
The Gym Operations Director oversees day-to-day gym operations, including all gymnastics programs, coaches, and classes. This role ensures lesson plans meet June Bug’s safety standards, staff are supported and trained, and families receive clear, consistent communication.
This position reports directly to the President and works closely with coaches, office staff, and program leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Program Oversight
Oversee all gym programs to ensure student development, safety, and quality instruction
Supervise and support all staff
Ensure weekly lesson plans align with gym standards and are implemented effectively
Maintain a fun, engaging learning environment using music, movement, and gym props
Serve as a role model by embodying the June Bug Spirit and upholding the Operational Handbook
Teach a minimum of 15-18 classes per week
Able to lead and train for all special events (Birthday Parties, Parents Night Out, Camps, etc.)
Staff Management & Development:
Train, mentor, and guide coaches to meet lesson plan objectives and gym standards
Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training staff
Conduct check-ins with direct reports and annual performance reviews
Support monthly staff development meetings
Safety, Standards & Operations:
Ensure all equipment, activities, and spaces meet safety standards
Address safety concerns and operational challenges promptly
Conduct daily quality-control checks to keep the gym organized and safe
Maintain appropriate coach-to-student ratios
Ensure classes are covered when coaches are absent
Communication & Administration:
Communicate weekly schedules and updates to staff
Coordinate with office staff regarding class sizes and student placements
Learn and use iClassPro software
Ensure coaches maintain required USA Gymnastics memberships, SafeSport training, and background checks
Hands-On Involvement:
Teach and demonstrate basic gymnastics skills when needed
Participate in birthday parties, open gyms, camps, and special events
Support parents and staff with professionalism and good judgment
Qualifications & Qualities:
Experience in gymnastics, gymnastics skilled progressions and skill development
Competitive gymnastics experience
Early Childhood Development (degree and/or experience)
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
Ability to motivate, train, and support a team
Commitment to safety, consistency, and positive coaching
Energetic, dependable, and positive with a sense of humor
Willingness to learn, grow, and help improve gym operations
Compensation, Hours & Benefits:
Hourly position to start, with opportunities to discuss salary options for the right person
20+ hours per week (hours may vary based on programming needs)
