Lead Painter

Pacific Builders, a General Contractor, is looking for a Lead Painter. This position, working under the General Superintendent, oversees painting crews, directs daily tasks, ensures quality/safety, manages materials, prepares surfaces, applies finishes using various techniques (brush, roller, spray), and communicates with superintendents/project managers. Acting as a skilled supervisor for painting projects in construction by ensuring jobs meet standards and timelines.

Key Responsibilities
• Team Leadership: Guides, trains, and directs painters and apprentices, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to safe working techniques.
• Project Management: Organizes work schedules, estimates materials, orders supplies, and coordinates with other trades.
• Technical Execution: Performs skilled surface preparation (sanding, cleaning, masking) and applies various coatings (enamels, epoxies, urethanes)
• Quality Control: Inspects work to meet project specifications, codes, and client satisfaction.
• Communication: Liaises with supervisors, project managers, and clients to address concerns and report progress.
Essential Duties
• Read blueprints and/or project specifications.
• Operate and maintain equipment (ladders, lifts, sprayers).
• Maintain material, job, and personnel
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in industrial/commercial/residential painting.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• At least 4-5 years of experience in construction painting
Work Environment
• Varies from residential to commercial construction sites; potentially requiring travel to local remote areas and involving PPE use and physical demands.
Wages & Benefits:
• $28-32 per hour depending on experience.
