A precision manufacturing facility serving the aerospace, medical, computer, consumer products, industrial, and solar industries is seeking a highly qualified Quality Inspector to join its Chatsworth-based team. The organization operates under Lean Manufacturing principles, is AS9100D certified, and is fully ITAR compliant, delivering high-reliability components to regulated markets.

Summary: The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that manufactured products meet all customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with AS9100D standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a high-precision, aerospace-level manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
• Perform in-process, first article, and final inspections of machined and fabricated parts in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Inspect components using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, optical comparators, and CMM reports.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Conduct and document First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements.
• Verify material certifications, process certifications, and traceability documentation.
• Identify, document, and report nonconformances, and support root cause and corrective action activities.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with AS9100D.
• Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues and support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with ITAR regulations and company security requirements.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 3–5 years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of AS9100D quality management systems; AS9102 FAI experience preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Experience using a wide range of manual inspection and metrology tools.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
