MASTER ELECTRICIAN — RESIDENTIAL (Orange County, CA)

About the Role
We are seeking a Master-level Residential Electrician capable of leading high-end residential electrical work including remodels, custom homes, service upgrades, smart lighting, and client-facing troubleshooting. This role requires deep code knowledge, permitting/inspection competency, planning/coordination skills, and the ability to mentor crews while upholding premium workmanship standards.
The ideal candidate brings technical credibility, leadership maturity, and confidence working with homeowners, GCs, designers, and municipal inspectors.

Key Responsibilities
Technical & Code Authority
Interpret and apply NEC + CEC for custom residential work
Perform complex load calculations, circuit mapping, and system design verification
Oversee panel/service upgrades, grounding, bonding, and fault protection
Approve sequencing, layout, and constructability in the field
Review and redline plans, one-lines, and fixture schedules
Coordinate inspections, permitting, and AHJ interactions
Leadership & Coordination
Lead and mentor journeyman and apprentice electricians
Build work plans, crew assignments, and day-to-day scheduling
Interface with homeowners, GCs, designers, engineers, and inspectors
Provide material takeoffs and procurement requests
Support estimating and project planning with technical input
Residential Project Types include:
Custom homes & luxury remodels
Panel + service upgrades
EV charging + load calcs
Lighting design-build + fixture integration
Smart controls + automation (Lutron, Ketra, Savant, etc.)
Troubleshooting + service calls
Additions + ADUs
Generator/ATS (as applicable)

Required Qualifications
12–15+ years residential electrical experience (service + remodel required)
Master Electrician-level competency (CA equivalent acceptable)
Strong understanding of:
NEC / California Electrical Code
Title 24 Energy Standards
Local permit & inspection requirements
Utility coordination (Edison, etc.)
Proficiency with:
Panel upgrades / service gear
Load calcs and fault protection
Advanced troubleshooting
Generator + ATS systems
Home automation platforms (Lutron, Control4, Savant, Crestron, Ketra)
Lighting specification and fixture schedules
Acts as Qualifying Party for C-10 (current or former)
Prior crew or field leadership role
Ability to support estimating (takeoffs, scopes, BOMs)
English + Spanish bilingual (not required)
Valid CA Driver’s License and clean record
Ability to perform physical field work as needed
