Job Description

Dahl-Beck Electric Co. has provided motor repair, marine electrical and industrial electrical service in the San Francisco Bay Area for 90+ years. We are an electrical contractor that specializes in the maintenance, repair and rewinding of large electrical machinery including motors (up to 4000 HP), generators (up to 4 MW), and associated rotating machinery.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Electric Motor Manager in Richmond, CA. This is NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION, so please do not apply for this position if you do not have 5+ years of direct electric motor repair/supervisory experience. You will assist in the responsibility of managing the day-to-day operations of a large electric motor repair shop. We are looking for a high-energy, enthusiastic individual who is able to manage a multitude of jobs simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and be able to communicate effectively with our customer base and employees. On a daily basis you will be required to compose professional emails, letters, and written reports to our customers about the finding and repair progress of their equipment.

Summary:
What you will be doing on the job…
• Telephone communications with customers about the repair options for their equipment.
• Updating customers on work order status.
• Creating and submitting quotes & reports for our clients utilizing our specialized software and various Microsoft programs.
• Working with our shop supervisors to schedule and complete jobs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Purchasing parts and materials required for repair jobs.
• Dispatching service technicians.
• Costing out completed jobs for invoicing.

Job Requirements:
What you need to have for the job…
• Hands-on and supervisory experience in the electric motor repair industry.
• Organizational and personnel management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills (ie: Microsoft Office Suite).
• Possess a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
• Function and work well under pressure.
• Able to work a Full-Time schedule in both an office and a shop setting.
• May require occasional after-hours contact with customers to discuss their jobs.
• A positive “Can Do” attitude.

Depending on relevant experience and skills, this is a salaried position paying from $80,000 to $115,000 per year.
