Job Description
Skilled Millwork Painter & Finisher
Are you a craftsman with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for bringing high-end woodwork to life? We are looking for an experienced Millwork Painter / Finisher to join our production team and help us deliver exceptional quality to our clients.
The Role
In this position, you will be responsible for the final transformation of custom cabinetry, trim, and architectural millwork. You won’t just be "painting"; you’ll be applying high-performance finishes that protect and enhance premium wood products.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation: Expertly sand, fill, and prep raw wood and MDF surfaces for a flawless finish.
Spray Application: Operate and maintain HVLP, airless, or air-assisted spray systems to apply primers, paints, stains, and clear coats.
Color Matching: Ensure consistency across batches and perform custom stain matching as needed.
Finishing Techniques: Execute multi-step finishes, including glazing, distressing, or high-gloss polishing.
Quality Control: Inspect finished pieces for runs, debris, or uneven coverage before they leave the shop.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience specifically in millwork, cabinetry, or furniture finishing.
Technical Skill: Proficient with various spray equipment and knowledge of solvent-based and waterborne coatings.
Attention to Detail: You take pride in a "mirror" finish and understand that the difference is in the prep work.
Reliability: Ability to manage a steady workflow and meet project deadlines in a shop environment.
Why Join Us?
Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
Consistent, year-round indoor work (no chasing the weather).
A professional shop environment with high-quality equipment.
Opportunities for growth within a dedicated team of craftsmen.
How to Apply
If you have the experience and the drive to produce top-tier work, we want to hear from you. Please send your resume and, if available, photos of your recent finishing projects to office@thecabinetshopllc.com.
