Children: Not applicable. Duties: A formal, multi-staffed private estate in Atherton is seeking a full-time Houseman to support the daily operations, aesthetics, and presentation of the property. This role is ideal for a service-oriented professional who takes pride in maintaining both the interior and exterior appearance of a high-end residence and works well within a collaborative household team. The Houseman will report to a structured support team and work closely with estate staff and outside vendors to ensure the property is consistently maintained to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, discreet, and thrives in a team-based environment focused on seamless household operations.Requirements: This role is responsible for maintaining the overall presentation, functionality, and readiness of the home, with particular attention to exterior spaces, entryways, patios, and outdoor living areas. The individual will support the daily upkeep of interior common areas to ensure the residence remains orderly, clean, and guest-ready, while also assisting with the setup and breakdown of household activities, meetings, and occasional events. Responsibilities include coordinating with and supporting outside vendors such as landscapers, window washers, maintenance professionals, and delivery services to ensure work is completed to standard and on schedule, performing light maintenance tasks, and promptly reporting larger repair needs. The role also involves conducting routine property walkthroughs to identify maintenance or presentation issues, managing trash, recycling, and general household logistics, and collaborating with other household staff to promote efficient work flows. Strict discretion, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset are essential at all times.Benefits: This full-time position offers a guaranteed 40-hour work week, 52 weeks of employment per year, and a competitive hourly rate of $45–$50 per hour depending on experience. In addition to regular pay, the role includes a comprehensive benefits package featuring paid federal holidays, standard vacation time, and 40 hours of paid sick leave in compliance with California law.
