Job Description
We are hiring for a kitchen manager in San Francisco. Our desired applicant will be an organized self starter that loves making great food and is looking to help lead a great team. This position is an hourly role with a competitive wage, health insurance, and tips, with a projected work week of 40 hours.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
At least 4 years of previous cooking experience
Able to communicate in English and Spanish.
Able to follow verbal instructions and standardized recipes without supervision.
Must be able to work nights and weekends.
Must be able to work calmly under pressure and exhibit professionalism at all times.
Able to work with a diverse staff and knows that all staff should be treated respectfully at all times.
Must have a current food handlers card
Experience with expediting
Comfortable with Google Sheets and Docs, and has basic computer skills
Duties (include but not limited to):
Communicate clearly and often with the Executive Chef about any issues, kitchen needs, staffing concerns, etc.
Checking inventory and pars and placing orders accordingly
Managing kitchen staff, making sure food is prepped, cooked, and plated as directed by the Executive chef.
Upholding cleanliness standards and assigning cleaning tasks as needed.
Managing inventory: making sure food is properly stocked and rotated, and any expired food is removed from the line and discarded.
Managing preplist and prep cooks to ensure correct pars are met; assisting with prep and delegating as appropriate.
Oversee line cooks, ensuring food quality and safety.
Assist with prepping for and being involved in menu changes.
