Job Description
GarNat Engineering, LLC seeks to hire Project Engineer. Duties: Primary responsibilities include designing
roadways, drainage systems, site, and hydraulic modeling. During the designing phase, project engineer will be
working on utility layouts, water tank plans, grading plans, erosion control plans, and site plans. Project engineer
will help obtain approvals from governing agencies. All work, in accordance to state licensure laws, will be
supervised and checked by a registered professional engineer (P.E.). When conducting drainage study, the project
engineer will describe in general the existing condition of storm water drainage and the proposed improvements for
a given projects. The project engineer will calculate site runoff, read the topographical map from a civil engineering
point of view to delineate water sheds, and determine the time required for runoff to travel from hydraulically most
distant point in the watershed to the outlet using velocity method. The project engineer will then calculate the
existing and proposed site runoff using rational methods. After the project engineer calculates the existing flow
patterns and quantity, he/she will limit the new development design in such a way as to prevent exceeding the runoff
to the same downstream point where the existing runoff falls. In this process the engineer will use judgment as well
as mathematical reasoning to determine the existing and proposed calculations. Project engineer will frequently use
pipe network and on-site storage to limit the existing runoff. Project engineer will use Mannings formulas to
calculate and design channels such us pipe networks and ditches. Project engineer will also perform roadway
corridor design by Autocad, Civil 3D, hydraulic water modeling by KYpipe software, water and sewer design for
subdivision, etc. Furthermore, project engineer will help prepare and submit Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
(SWPPP) for small and large projects, Short Term Activity Authorization (STAA), and bid documents for various
projects. Must have at least bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Jobsite: 3825 Mount Carmel Rd Bryant, AR.
