Job Description
*Lead / Senior AV & Low Voltage Technician (Residential Smart Home) — Westside LA*
*About Haustech*
Haustech is a custom audio/video and low-voltage integration company in Los Angeles. We work with designers and architects and primarily serve residential clients on the Westside (Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Brentwood, Malibu, etc.). We’re looking for a hands-on lead technician who takes pride in clean installs, clean racks, and solid troubleshooting.
*Pay*
*$35–$40/hour* (DOE) + bonus potential
*Schedule / Location*
• Full-time, Monday–Friday (hours vary by workload and jobsite)
• In-person; must be able to drive to Westside LA job sites
*What you’ll do*
• Lead installation of residential AV + low-voltage systems (new construction + retrofit)
• Prewire/rough-in, trim-out, device installs, testing, and troubleshooting
• Rack builds: termination, labeling, cable management, QC
• Coordinate with the team and communicate clearly with clients and trades
• Maintain a professional appearance and clean job sites
*Required experience / skills*
• 3+ years in residential AV and/or low-voltage installation (lead experience preferred)
• Comfortable with prewire, trim, basic signal flow, and troubleshooting
• Reliable transportation, valid CA driver’s license, clean driving record
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders
• High school diploma or equivalent
• *Authorized to work in the U.S.*
*Tools*
• Must have your own *basic hand tools* for low-voltage/AV work
• Having a drill/impact and testing tools (tone/probe, basic testers) is a *plus*, not required
*Nice to have (big plus)*
• Savant, Lutron, Sonos, Sony, Sonance
• Networking/Wi‑Fi troubleshooting (Araknis/UniFi or similar)
