Job Description

HOTEL EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team. As a Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our engineering department and leading a team of 4 engineers. Your role will involve maintaining the entire hotel facility, including physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C. systems and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance.
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all electrical and mechanical systems within the facility.
Analyze schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate engineering projects and initiatives.
Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Assumes responsibility for any engineering position in absence of staff.
Immediately available to report to the hotel in the event of any hotel emergency which necessitates the skills and expertise of the Chief Engineer.

Qualifications

A minimum of three years of experience with hotel or resort Engineering, Maintenance and Management is required.
Proven experience in an engineering leadership role, preferably as a Chief Engineer or similar position.
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC systems.
HVAC certification required
Proficiency in low voltage and high voltage electrical systems, including logic controllers.
Familiarity with using an ohmmeter for testing electrical components.
Must be able to troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read and interpret schematics.
Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to effectively manage a diverse team.
Proficient in English both written and verbal
A commitment to safety standards and best practices in engineering operations.
Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel.
EPA Universal certification preferred
Electrical certification preferred

Pay starts at: $85,000 DOE
