Job Description
Work Hours: Monday-Sunday 9am-4:30pm.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Follow recipes and menu plans to prepare meals according to established guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other food preparation tools.
Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Support the catering team by preparing dishes for events as needed.
Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements to existing offerings.
Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to maintain quality and safety.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within the food industry.
Familiarity with culinary techniques, including knife skills and meal preparation.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in handling food.
Experience in restaurant or catering environments is a plus.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
