Tax Preparer

Peace of Mind Offerings (POM) is seeking a Tax Preparer to support our upcoming tax season. POM serves creatives, wellness practitioners, and small business owners through thoughtful, integrity-based financial care. We prioritize clarity, calm systems, and human-centered service.
This is a flexible, part-time role for someone who values quality over volume and wants to work in alignment with a grounded, respectful practice.

Position Overview
• Type: Independent Contractor
• Hours: ~10 hours per week
• Schedule: Flexible
• Rate: $45/hour (commensurate with experience)
• Location: Weekly meetings in Pasadena
• Term: Tax season (with potential for extension support)

Responsibilities
• Prepare individual and small business tax returns
• Review financial documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with lead practitioner on tax planning and filing needs
• Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance
• Utilize provided tax software and internal workflows
• Flag issues, questions, or inconsistencies proactively

Required Qualifications
• Active PTIN in good standing
• Active CTEC registration (California)
• Prior tax preparation experience (2+ seasons preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and deadline management
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

Preferred Qualifications
• Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
• Experience with sole proprietors, creatives, or service-based businesses
• Familiarity with extension-heavy or nontraditional income scenarios
