Job Description

Position Summary

The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems for both commercial and residential landscape properties. This role ensures irrigation systems operate efficiently, conserve water, and support healthy landscape growth while maintaining company quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems including valves, controllers, drip systems, and sprinkler heads
• Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation system issues such as leaks, electrical problems, coverage issues, and pressure concerns
• Perform system inspections and seasonal adjustments to improve water efficiency and plant health
• Program and adjust irrigation controllers according to seasonal and site-specific needs
• Locate and repair damaged lines, valves, and wiring
• Read and interpret irrigation plans and layouts
• Communicate with supervisors and clients regarding repairs, recommendations, and system improvements
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and service recommendations
• Ensure job sites are clean, safe, and organized
• Assist with new landscape and irrigation installations as needed

Qualifications
• Experience in irrigation installation and repair for commercial and residential properties
• Knowledge of irrigation components, controllers, drip systems, and sprinkler systems
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic irrigation issues
• Ability to read irrigation plans and diagrams
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Skills
• Irrigation certification or relevant industry training preferred
• Experience with smart controllers and water management systems
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Knowledge of local water conservation practices and regulations

Work Environment
• Outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Physical work including digging, lifting, kneeling, and walking job sites
• May require early morning or seasonal schedule adjustments
