Lead Landscape Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

The Lead Landscape Maintenance Technician is responsible for leading and working alongside maintenance crews to ensure landscape properties are maintained to company quality standards. This position oversees daily route completion, crew productivity, equipment care, and communication with management and clients while ensuring work is performed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise landscape maintenance crews on daily routes
• Perform and oversee mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, blowing, and general landscape upkeep
• Ensure properties meet company quality standards and client expectations
• Assign daily tasks and monitor crew productivity and performance
• Train and mentor crew members on proper maintenance practices and safety procedures
• Identify landscape issues and report recommendations for improvements or repairs
• Monitor irrigation systems for visible problems and report needed repairs
• Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles
• Communicate with management regarding job progress, schedule changes, and site concerns
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
• Assist with seasonal cleanups, plant replacements, and minor landscape improvements as needed

Qualifications
• Experience in landscape maintenance with leadership or crew lead experience preferred
• Knowledge of proper pruning techniques, plant care, and landscape maintenance practices
• Ability to operate landscape maintenance equipment safely and efficiently
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and basic troubleshooting
• Experience managing routes or scheduling crews
• Ability to identify plant health issues and recommend solutions

Work Environment
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Physical work including lifting, bending, walking, and operating equipment
• Early morning start times may be required
